Education and Nurture

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets,
some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ.
(Ephesians 4:11-12)

The Word of God calls us to action.  We are excited about the opportunity to participate together in the work of God’s kingdom, and seek to serve where our gifts and skills can be used most effectively in His church.  This is why our ministry groups are largely led and staffed by lay people.  We invite individuals to group together with others in areas of interest to accomplish together the tasks necessary in a busy, growing church; and to do so in such a way that their gifts can be used to do what is needed for that ministry to blossom.

Education and Nurture ministries facilitate learning and intellectual stimulation with the goal of growth of the mind and spirit towards the image of Christ.

Sunday School is offered for all ages of youth, through high school, college, and into the first years of career life.  For information about these various age groupings and what is offered, you may call the church office.

The Inquirer’s Class is offered annually during the fall months at the Sunday School hour (9:30 am).  It provides an opportunity for those new to NCPC to learn more about the background and “inner workings” of our church, and includes instruction in church doctrine, government, and membership responsibilities.  This class is required for those wishing to become members of NCPC, but if you wish to take this class there is no obligation to join the church.

Christian education for adults continues during the Sunday School hour with the offerings of biblical study, life application, and devotional benefit.  There are also Bible studies during the week for women, an “early riser” Bible study for men, as well as a higher level training opportunity for church office preparation.
